Welfare Rights
SDCA offers a Welfare Rights Service for people with any level of hearing loss living in Sandwell. The service runs weekly at SDCA and is delivered by an experienced Welfare Rights Officer supported by a British Sign Language Interpreter.
This service is funded by Sandwell Council and is available to Sandwell residents.
Due to high demand, appointments must be booked in advance.
What do we do?
Our Welfare Rights Service provides guidance and support to help you understand and access your welfare entitlements. We can support you throughout the entire claims process, from completing initial forms to receiving your benefit.
Support is available for a wide range of benefits including:
- Disability Living Allowance (DLA)
- Personal Independence Payment (PIP)
- Working Tax Credit and Child Tax Credit
- Housing Benefit
- Pension Credit
- Discretionary Housing Funds
- Council Tax Support
- Carer’s Allowance
- Attendance Allowance
