About Us

Sandwell Deaf Community Association (SDCA) was founded in 2003 to support deaf and hard of hearing individuals on behalf of Sandwell Council.

At SDCA, we support deaf and hard of hearing people to live more connected, confident, and independent lives. We provide accessible, community-based services across Sandwell and the Black Country area, shaped by the needs and experiences of the people we work with.

Advocacy, Support, Communication, Training, Welfare Rights, Information and Advice, Volunteering, Community Groups and opportunities to have your voice heard through consultation and research.

You can contact us directly to access our services, and we also accept referrals from professionals and other organisations.

We treat every individual with dignity, empathy, and respect. We take time to understand each person’s lived experience and recognise that everyone’s communication needs are different.

Clear, accessible communication is at the heart of everything we do. We are committed to providing information and services in ways that work for the people we support.

Empowerment

We support people to make informed choices, build confidence, and maintain independence. Our role is to enable, not to speak over or decide for others.
