SDCA is a voluntary organisation that began delivering services for deaf people in 2003. The organisation offers services to individual deaf people, the wider deaf community in Sandwell and to organisations and professionals working with deaf people.

Sandwell Deaf Community Association’s Training Service is a ‘Deaf Specialist’ training provider committed to delivering high quality training in and around Sandwell.
SDCA Communication Service provides BSL Interpreters, Interpreters for Deafblind people, Notetakers and Lipspeakers in a variety of settings such as medical appointments, work meetings, training courses, job centre appointments, school meetings, public events, social services, police and legal settings etc.
SDCA offers a facilitation / consultation service between service providers and the Deaf community.
We provide a service for to identify where people need help and support to access their welfare rights and benefit entitlements.
Disabled Students Allowances (DSA’s) are government grants that Deaf students receive along with their other finances to cover additional costs resulting from their disability. DSA’s can pay for specialist equipment or non-medical helpers (NMH) for example, Sign Language Interpreters.
